IPH | A short while ago, he was an out-and-out researcher, now Dr Florian Podszus is launching his own business. In collaboration with a small team, he offers all services around data mining – from production data to market research.

Study of Mechanical Engineering, four years as a research associate at the Institut für Integrierte Produktion Hannover (IPH) gGmbH followed by a successful doctorate, six months as the co-managing director of the SME 4.0 Competence Centre – this is the scientific career of Dr Florian Podszus in brief.

Now he is starting his second career – as an entrepreneur. Together with the market researcher Janina Haase, he is the founder of the start-up "beta Data Science", whose portfolio includes data collection, data analysis and data interpretation.

Is my new product well-received by the customers? Which is the best maintenance interval for my machinery? How can I organize my storage facility as efficient as possible? "With the appropriate data, we can answer practically every customer question", says Dr Florian Podszus.

The two founders offer interdisciplinary expertise: Dr Florian Podszus holds a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering and is a data specialist, Janina Haase is a graduated economist who is currently writing her doctoral thesis on sensory branding.
