PZH | Famous thought leader at the Hannover Centre for Production Technology (PZH): Professor Julian M Allwood from Cambridge/UK opened the “Future Lab Production and Society“. A video of his presentation on the topic “Manufacturing in a low energy future“ can now be watched online.

Under the title “Future Lab Production and Society“, the PZH has been inviting thought leaders since March 2016 to speak about global challenges such as climate change and resource depletion. The video of the lecture held in English by Julian M Allwood, Professor of Engineering and the Environment, can now be downloaded under www.pzh-hannover.de/zpg_videos.

Julian M Allwood is one of the most respected international scientists in the field of forming technology. He is also investigating the role of industry with regard to climate change. His conclusion: Strengthening alternative energies and designing more efficient processes is not sufficient. The target of 2 degrees stipulated in the World Climate Agreement requires broad rethinking in society. The motto for consumption and production habits should rather be “half as much for twice as long“.
