IPH | Change of management at IPH: Mareile Kriwall takes over the management in the field of process technology on 1 November 2019. The 34-year old mechanical engineer is responsible for ten staff members and many research projects and industrial contracts.
Kriwall studied Mechanical Engineering at Leibniz Universität Hannover and is with the Institut für Integrierte Produktion Hannover (IPH) gGmbH as a project engineer since May 2017. The new manager’s aim is an even more pronounced diversification in the field of process technology. “Forming technology is the core competency of IPH, my colleagues have an extraordinary knowledge of cross wedge rolling, multidirectional forging, hybrid forging as well as of process design and control “, says Kriwall. “But process technology is far more than that. I can think of many potential applications in digitalisation and machine learning. In this direction, we should widen our spectrum.“
This is also the intention of IPH’s managing director Dr Malte Stonis. “Our process technology team will develop new ideas by following actual trends – like artificial intelligence, ergonomics and quality control.“ IPH engineers are already involved in the development of ergonomically optimized tongs, sensors for process monitoring in forming machines and methods for automatic sequence planning. Similar research projects will follow.
