The institutes issuing the phi

Near the north-western city limits of Hannover, a strong, practice-oriented and closely knit research network has been established: Production technology in all its shades is the topic of research, the subject of a university degree programme and a discipline optimized in innumerable projects, often in cooperation with industrial partners.

With more than 400 production technology specialists from all disciplines and outstanding high-quality equipment, Hannover production technology is top ranked nationwide.

These are the member institutions:

PZH – The Hannover Centre for Production Technology

The PZH is one of the large production engineering research centres: It unites seven institutes of Leibniz Universität Hannover with about 250 research associates, the engineering service provider TEWISS GmbH and a start-up centre with focus on production engineering. Fundamental research and cooperations with industrial partners are an ideal supplement to practice-oriented education. In particular, the degree programme "Production and Logistics" is well-established at the PZH. More than 500 student assistants are already involved in research projects at the PZH. www.pzh-hannover.de

IPH – Institut für Integrierte Produktion Hannover (Hannover Institute of Integrated Production)

The IPH is a service provider in the field of production technology. As a mediator between theory and practice, the IPH offers contract and fundamental research, consulting and qualification in the fields of process technology, production automation and logistics. Furthermore, the IPH is dealing on the scientific level with XXL products independent of the branch – for example, wind power plants, container ships and aeroplanes. In 1988, the company was founded as a spin-off of Leibniz Universität Hannover with its headquarters in the science park Marienwerder and currently about 60 staff members. www.iph-hannover.de

LZH – Laser Zentrum Hannover (Hannover Laser Centre)

As an independent, nonprofit research institute for photonics and laser technology, the LZH stands for innovative research, consulting and development. The focus of applied research in the field of photonic technologies is on optical components and systems, optical production technologies and biomedical photonics. Since its foundation in 1986, interdisciplinarity is of great importance and the basis for LZH’s excellent work. As a reliable partner of industry, the focus of the LZH is always on the customer’s benefit, using "Light for Innovation". www.lzh.de
